Aspirations Active has opened Aspirations Active Worthing, which provides a high street presence in the community.
The shop offers information to people with social care needs and their carers. Visitors are also invited to use the shop as a facility for sharing their own experiences about local resources and services. The shop will be in part run by our members, supported by our team of committed and experienced staff.
The shop provides an opportunity for our service users to become active participants in the wider community, having opportunities to help other people and make a difference socially and environmentally. Our aim is to work constructively to develop our own sustainable and resilient community which is able to work interdependently with other communities towards a better society for everyone.
Some of the things our members will benefit from:

- Having the feeling that they are having a positive effect on themselves and those around them
- A supportive, caring environment in which to use and develop communication skills and confidence
- An opportunity to network with other organisations in Worthing with similar aims and ambitions

Members will:
- Work with local charities and organisations
- Help to inform the local community about learning disability issues
- Network with local business owners to improve services for people with a learning difficulty
- Help with the running of the shop, including providing information to the public
- Help with the running of our new website.
- Situated on the site of an old post office, the shop comprises: a shop front, meeting --rooms, a garden and workshops that will be developed to benefit the local residential community and neighbouring community groups.
